The November 3, 2009 General
Election will be for:
Governor, Lieutenant
Governor and Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and
for Delegate of the 55th District Seat of the House of Delegates and
for Delegate of the 97th District Seat of the House of Delegates.
Absentee ballots must be available
by September 18, 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The registration deadline
is Monday, October 5, 2009. Applications received with a postmark
of October 5, 2009 or earlier will also be accepted.
Absentee Applications sent by mail must be received by the close of
business on Tuesday, October, 27, 2009. Voted absentee ballots cast
in person must be received by Saturday, October 31, 2009. Voted
absentee ballots received by mail must arrive by the close of of polls
on Tuesday, November 3, 2009
THE POLLS IN ALL VIRGINIA ELECTIONS
ARE OPEN FROM 6:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M. THOSE WAITING IN LINE AT
7:00 P.M. WILL BE ALLOWED TO VOTE.
Election files in Microsoft Excel format or Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format
can be retreived by clicking on the link on the results
page. Microsoft Excel files, marked "XLS", are in
our FTP server and may not be downloadable if you are on some company/government
servers that block FTP file transfers. A new live election results
page will be activated a few days before election day for testing.
Election returns from the precincts expected to begin and be posted
by approximately 7:20 p.m.
