Candidates for Office must:
1. be qualified to vote for and hold the
office sought
2. be a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia
for one year immediately preceding the election.
3. Other qualifications for certain offices
vary and information can be obtained from the State Board of
Elections at (804) 864-8901 or their TOLL FREE number at (800)
552-9745 or by FAX (804) 371-0194. Call the State
Board of Elections to request a candidate packet. A fee covering
printing and handling costs will be charged.
Copies of forms are available for download at the State Board
of Elections site http://www.sbe.state.va.us
